LRC access for USU alumni

I'm a USU alum. I have recently retired from military or federal government service. As a USUHS alumni, am I able to get access through the LRC?

Answer

The LRC provides access to USU alumni who are currently in U.S. military or federal government service and have a .gov or .mil email address.

Access to LRC resources requires an active USU Single Sign On (USU-SSO) account and an LRC account. Based on your responses to the form, we will determine your eligibility and help you establish (or re-establish) your USU-SSO and LRC accounts and link them so that you may access the LRC website.

USU alumni are entitled to access to most LRC resources as long as they remain in U.S. military or federal government service. However, some resources carry restrictions. For example:

  • UpToDate only allows access for 2 years post-graduation. However the military services offer it on their own and the Army, Navy, and Air Force offer either UpToDate or Dynamed
  • Interlibrary loan (ILL) service is not offered to alumni.

Alumni who are also USU faculty

Some alumni serve as non-billeted or adjunct USU faculty, and are entitled to LRC resources as faculty members.

Alumni Who Were Granted Access

In the past, some USU alumni who were granted LRC access on the basis of military or government service may have retained access even after leaving service. This was due to the user's LRC account not being properly updated to reflect their change in status.
